MARIO BELEM
The art of Mário Belém (Pt) is so vast, making it hard to define. Navigating through graphic design, illustration, drawings and painting, in street art he is always able to surprise us with a rigorous trait, full of force, vitality, sometimes ironic, others more sensual. Many times he recovers and renews traditional Portuguese visual culture with great results, as when he revisited Almada Negreiros, a famous Portuguese modern artist. With eclectic, provocative and balanced compositions, what his imagination creates is always cause of some astonishment, considering the different techniques that he is able to handle. Moving with great ease in grounds that few dominate is an example of how the diversity of styles is not synonymous of lack of personality but of great adaptability.
